Who Is Ron Benson?

Ron Benson is a husband, father, writer, speaker, and pastor. Ron has been published in Light and Life Magazine (July/August 2003, reprinted for the Asbury Online Seminary), The Door (July/August 2003), The Bible Advocate (January/February 2004), Discipleship Journal (July/August 2004), Leadership Journal (Summer 2004), and Today's Christian (Sept/Oct 2005). In 2014-15, Ron produced blog posts for In Touch Ministries, the public ministry of Dr. Charles Stanley. CWR (Christianity Without the Religion, formerly The Plain Truth Magazine) has published many of Ron's articles.
Ron’s book, Coach’s Challenge: Faith, Football, and Filling the Father Gap, was released by Howard Publishing in September, 2007. Ron worked with Mike Gottfried, former NCAA football coach and ESPN announcer, to write this book about Coach Gottfried's life, the needs of fatherless boys, and how to meet them.
Ron is a husband to Linda, who taught Kindergarten in urban Detroit and worked as a consultant for the State of Michigan as a coach for preschool certification. Ron and Linda have four children, April, Jeremy, Garrison, and Jonathan, ranging in age from 35 to 25. They also have one delightful grandchild, Hudson, who is three. In the fall of 2003, Ron and Linda welcomed Ron's parents, Stan and Rebecca, into their home due to their advancing age. His father graduated to heaven on July 1, 2004, and his mother joined him there in 2013. In 2015, Ron and Linda invited Linda's mother, sister, and great-niece to live with Ron and Linda in Freeland, Michigan along the Tittabawassee River.
Ron has served congregations as a pastor for over thirty-seven years. He lead congregations in Southern California and in metropolitan Detroit, and now is the Pastor of Grace Christian Fellowship in Bay City, Michigan. As a “P.K.” (Preacher’s Kid), he spent the majority of his life within spitting distance of a church. As a result, Ron knows how to take careful aim at the church without being careless.
Ron is available to speak at your church or event. His favorite topics include grace, marriage, and emotions. Ron has a heart for pastors, and has been used by churches to speak on the care and feeding of clergy.
